Accessing the UMBC UCORS system for articles on library reserve. (Be sure that your computer has the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software mentioned on the UCORS website)


1) Go to http://aok.lib.umbc.edu/circ/ereserves/Student/eresindex.php
(click on the link)

Or you can get there by going to http://www.umbc.edu/aok/main/index.html
and then clicking on "Course Reserves."

2) The next screen will include a window that asks you to select a department,
choose History or American Studies and click on Go.

3) The next screen contains a list of courses with articles that are included in the UCORS system. Click on the link for either HIST 308 or AMST 384.

4) You should now see the screen that contains the readings for your course.

You will need to enter a username and password in order to have access to the article.***

For undergraduates:
The USERNAME for HIST 308/AMST 384 is: hist308
The PASSWORD is: sugarcane

For graduate students:
The USERNAME for HIST 798 is: hist798
The PASSWORD is: topmast

***If you are using the Internet from off campus, you may find it useful to download the free VPN software available on the UMBC OIT website. This software will also help you better utilize UCORS and other library materials/databases from off campus http://www.umbc.edu/oit/sans/desktopsupport/downloads/pages/VPNclient.htm. Another option is to enter your UMBC library ID number if prompted.
