Prospective Bibliography
Your assignment is to complete a prospective bibliography of sources that, in a perfect world, you would use for your research paper. You will need to bring a print copy of your prospective bibliography to class.
Organize your proposed bibliography using the headings and pay close attention to the proper formal bibliography format discussed in class. See the UMBC History Department Style Sheet for a general overview of the rules for formatting a bibliography. Historians use MLA style. You may NOT use APA format (this is a history methods course, not political science). Your prospective bibliography may not include source materials from all the headings listed below, but try to locate a wide range of materials. A good prospective bibliography should include at least 15 distinct sources. Strong historical research integrates a variety of resource materials.
Remember, a prospective bibliography includes everything that you would LIKE to see.
