DEFINITION TOPICS

GUIDELINES: For this theme, you are to define a term from either your major or your current job.

AUDIENCE: People unfamiliar with the term. Please specify your audience and purpose in the first section of the paper. You can use the heading Audience/Purpose. (Do NOT answer the Audience Analysis questions this time.)  See the sample definition about scabies for the correct format and information.

MECHANICS: Provide specifics that will support your definition. You must use a minimum of three of the expansion techniques discussed in class: description, comparison/contrast, etymology, negation, graphics, process, cause/effect, classification, etc. Use headings for each section of the report.

LENGTH: 1-2 pages.
