IS 387: Web Content Development
As the web matures, so do users' expectations about what a site should do. In addition to a pleasing design and working links, they also want sites that are clearly organized, relevant, accurate, up-to-date, and have interesting content. In addition, they want to be able to find information quickly and easily on websites. This course will focus on the principles and practices of the user-centered design of websites that address these needs.
IS 629: Human Factors in Information Systems
The course provides an introduction to the theoretical foundations and research context that underlie and support the design of usable information systems. Upon completion of the course students will have an understanding of the underlying cognitive principles, hardware input and output methods, and they will be familiar with a range of interaction modes. In addition the course will also help students build the following skills: writing, presentation, team work, and information literacy.
