Consulting/Workshops

Don Killgallon and his wife Jenny are occasionally available to consult with schools and to conduct workshops to train teachers in the sentence composing approach to writing improvement. All workshops are tailored to the specific needs of the school system and are designed in consultation with the appointed language arts coordinator/supervisor of the system. At minimum, each workshop consists of the following topics:

Research Validating the Approach
Interactive Training in the Four Sentence Composing Techniques

Workshop participants learn and practice all four sentence composing techniques, and plan and teach in small groups short lessons on sentence composing tools.

During the workshop, teachers easily and enjoyably gain confidence about relevant grammatical terms and concepts of effective, varied sentence structure. They understand the history and theory of the sentence composing approach--now used in thousands of classrooms.

Most importantly, they leave the workshop with a strong motivation and enthusiasm to teach sentence composing in their own classrooms.
