My Career Plans

My objective is to obtain a position in the field of mechanical engineering related to aerospace engineering. I am in my junior year of studying mechanical engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and have a cumulative GPA of 4.00. The theoretical skills I have mastered include fields such as statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and thermodynamics. Additionally, I have experience in the use of technical computer programs including AutoCAD, Pro|Engineer, MATLAB, and Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power Point. Currently, I am studying fluid mechanics, materials science and engineering, technical writing, engineering mathematics, and machine design, all of which have applications in aerospace engineering. In the spring of 2007, upon being accepted to study at UMBC, I was awarded this school’s President’s Fellows Scholarship. For all 4 semesters I have completed at UMBC, I was named to both the President’s List and the Mechanical Engineering Dean’s List. Additionally, I was inducted into both the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in October of 2008 and the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society in April of 2009. My most recent achievement, however, occurred on November 20, 2009 when the former society informed me that I had been nominated to attend the International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on Engineering in China for summer 2010. I hope to attend this program, as I believe it would be very beneficial to my development as an engineer.
