My Hobbies
Aviation
- I learned to fly single-engine airplanes while in high-school (1954) and
have maintained an off-and-on relationship for the past 43 years. My most
recent activity was from 1979 - 1983, while a member of the Naval Academy Flying
Club, I became familiar with Cessnas, Pipers, Grummans of all types. I am now
somewhat inactive, but hope to become active again as soon as our home budget
stabilizes.

PC Computers
- I became interested in PC's in the late 1980's and received my first
home PC in april of 1990. However, it quickly ran out of disk space and also
needed more memory, so I replaced the existing hard-drive system with an IDE
system and also added more memory. In 1996, I felt the need to upgrade to a
Pentium machine, so I bought a new motherboard with a P120 and 32 MB of Ram. It
also had a 20" monitor which really makes it easy to use. My daughter came
up from college at the end of 1996 and saw what I had built and asked me to
build one for her. What I did was give her my machine and built a new one for
me, with a Cyrix P166+, 64 MB of RAM, and a 20" monitor. I have
since upgraded and now have a Pentium II 233 MHz with a 4.3 GB Hard
Drive but still with the 20" monitor.
