on-line monitoring of GFP expression

Monitoring gene expression in yeast:

Note: Here is an example where on-line monitoring of GFP expression was carried out using the GFP sensor. Here GFP was expressed under the galactose inducible GAL1 promoter. GFP expression started after glucose depletion because the GAL1 promoter is repressed under growth on glucose. With the on-line monitoring, we have a real time observation of the protein production and can easily decide harvest time.
