Weeklong Ski/Snowboard Course


Course Outline:
Students will participate in a weeklong trip for all skill levels to Killington Ski Resort in Killington, Vermont. Students will participate in 5 days of skiing or snowboarding at Killington. Lessons are available (additional fee) through Killington Professional Staff. The instructors will actively assess student ability and improvement over the week. Additional course fees are required. Fees will include transportation to/from Killington (via motor coach), lift ticket and lodging (5 nights). Trip costs from $579.00. (All taxes included). This course is available as a non-credit or for credit course. This is a 1.5 credit physical education class.

Trip Facts:
UMBC instructor to be present at all time. Students and instructor will travel via Charter Bus to Killington, VT on Sunday, January 5, 2003, and return on Saturday, January 11, 2003. While on mountain, students and instructors will stay in Killington Resort Condos (up to 8 people/condo).
Students that own equipment will be given the opportunity to bring the equipment to Killington at no additional charge.

Depart: UMBC RAC; Sunday, January 5th @ 7:30 am
Arrive: Killington, VT; Sunday, January 5 @ 6:00 pm

Killington - UMBC:
Depart: Killington, VT; Friday, January 10 @ 8:00 pm
Arrive: UMBC RAC; Saturday, January 11 @ 6:00 am

Additional Costs:
Lesson pass (5 days, 2 hours/day): $70
Equipment/Rental (5 day): $85
Any meals outside of those provided are the responsibility of the student.
Payment:
Have all checks made payable to Gary Wohlstetter, and note PHED 141a in the memo section of the check.
Separate, refundable security deposits of $25 must be submitted along with final payment.
A deposit of $100 is required when you register for the course. The balance is due on or before December 16, 2002


Apparel:
Students are advised to bring warm clothes (recommend layers), multiple pairs of gloves, any waterproof or water-resistant apparel and long, thick socks.
