Time:Class meets tuesday from 7:00- 9:30pm
Prerequisites: IFSM 450 Data Communications and Networks and
a basic understanding of Unix.
Grading Policy.
- Exams (40%). There will be two exams, which count
20 percent each. These exams will be spaced approximately every six weeks.
- Term Paper (20%). There will be a 7-10 page term paper required from one of the
following areas:
- System security.
- TCP/IP Network Administration or Management.
- Policy and/or ethical issues in system administration.
- Technical Project (20%). Each student will be required to complete a technical
project and write up the results. Examples include a complete OS installation,
network software installation, or some other topic.
- Homework (20%). There will be 5 homeworks given out.
- Two homeworks requiring system time that count 7% each (14% total).
- Four homeworks of which you must do three that count 2% each (6% total).
