Scotchguarding
Scotchguarding is a protective
coating that when properly applied protects your carpet from spots and
stains. This coating seals the fiber and protects your carpet from
premature wear and fiber damage in high traffic areas. Scotchguard is
completely safe for, you, your family, and the environment.
How Scotchguard Works
- Scotchguard repels dirt and dust
from embedding into your carpet therefore your carpets remain cleaner
longer.
- Scotchguard improves the carpet
fibers' resistance to water-based stains, anything spilled on a
scotchguarded carpet should "bead up" and stay at the
surface long enough that you can easily blot up spills so they don't
result in permanent staining.
- Scotchguarding is not intended
for water proofing your carpet. However, it does provide the carpet
with some protection against water based substances.
Tips For
Scotchguarded Carpets
- Scotchguarding should be
reapplied after every steam cleaning The scotchguarding is stripped
off when the carpets are cleaned, consequently your carpet is no
longer protected.
- Regular vacuuming of your carpets
is very important. You should use a vacuum with a beater bar because
it lifts up the fibers and removes the ground in dirt.
- Scotchguarding does not
prevent stains. If you spill anything on your carpet always blot
up the stain never scrub, brush or rub the stain into the carpeting
because you can easily damage the fibers.
