Installation
The quality level of the installation is very important
to the life of the carpet.
Before installers arrive:
- Complete other jobs in the room (i.e. painting, wallpapering, etc.)
- Vacuum the old carpet
- Remove all "knick-knacks" from the room. This is
extremely important so that there is no way for them to get broken.
- Try to remove some of the furniture. If this step isn't
possible, the installer will move it for you. Once again, you
should make sure that all "knick-knacks" are removed from
the furniture.
Once the installers arrive:
- Check the carpet and make sure it is the correct style, color and
texture as what you ordered.
- Make sure that there is enough ventilation from within the
room. This is as simple as opening some windows, or putting a
fan or two in the room.
After the carpet is installed:
- Vacuum.
- Make sure the doors can be opened and closed. The new carpet
will be thicker than the old carpet, so the bottom of the doors may
need to be trimmed down.
- There will be shedding, simply vacuum this up.
- If there is noticeable wrinkling, call your installer.
