Briefly, the "Wall of Sound" was a fundamentally different type of sound system where each musician adjusted the levels of their own instruments. Owsley Stanley (Bear) claims that there can be no soundboard recordings because there wasn't a soundboard. During these "retirement" concerts there were apparently many recordings made, some of which were released as "Steal Your Face". There is a rumor that this recording is a copy of a rough mix cassette made for SYF provided to the taping community by Jerry Wexler's son or nephew (or something like that), along with 10.18.74 and 10.20.74.
