Information
Integration: I am interested in accessing data in multiple heterogeneous data
repositories using various semantic techniques, such as semantic
networks, and context awareness. This is a problem concerning the conception, implementation,
and verification of several approaches that integrate systems and information by taking advantage of semantic and contextual relationships
that are formed among related data stored in different repositories.
Mobile applications for handheld devices: Mostly interested
in
the aspects related to access and management of data
stored
either localy in the device or remotely in external databases or data
warehouses.
There is a
synergistic symbiosis between my two research areas; following a successful
information integration technique, the next step is the presentation of the
results by opening a window to the data. Users can not only view results of
their immediate query, but also navigate through the plethora of data in search
of interesting information patterns.
