David Gill is originally from Annapolis, Maryland. He is a junior at UMBC who is majoring in political science and also pursuing a certificate in public administration. He has interned for various agencies in the Maryland state government and even pretends to be a state legislator with the Maryland Student Legislature, which has a chapter at UMBC. David is involved with other student groups such as the campus radio station, WMBC and is a representative in the Student Government Association House of Organizations. He can also be found attempting to be involved in every other organization on campus (seethe photo section of the website for a few examples of this).

David currently works for the Maryland Department of Budget and Management which assisted the Governor in preparing the state budget for next year. This budget includes a $43 million increase for the University System of Maryland as well as increased money for financial aid. These increases will make UMBC easier to afford, but David believes there is still more work to be done. He is working with legislators, university administrators, and others to find a long term solution to address the cost of higher education. David has unique qualifications to address the issue of tuition from being in contact with top budget officials, legislators, students, and university administrators.

For the first two years David spent at UMBC, he was the founder and president of the campus Green Party (he has since left the organization and became a Democrat). His organization held numerous events such as lectures on foreign affairs and political party debates. This experience showed David the difficulties that student organization leaders face when starting a new organization and while running an organization. Also this experience and conversations with other student leaders showed David the bottlenecks organizations face when attempting to spend money allocated by the SGA. David would make it a priority to process organization requests to spend funds and other assistance quickly.

The many experiences and qualifications that David Gill has and his driven, motivated personality would enable him to make accomplishments that benefit the students. David acknowledges that he cannot guarantee success in addressing every issue that affects students because the SGA President has little formality authority in most of these areas. He refuses to make false promises about what he can accomplish. However, David's qualifications and dedication would enable him to accomplish as much as possible for students.

Justin Morgan is a third-year student at UMBC, and lives on campus at UMBC
in Chesapeake. He was a member of the SGA Election Board last year. A
native Marylander, he was born in Baltimore on July 28th, 1984. About 12
months later, his family moved to Crofton, Anne Arundel County, where he
still permanently resides.

While in Crofton, he attended South River High School in nearby Edgewater.
Here he achieved many accomplishments including winning an
African-American History Bee, having his comics published in the school
newspaper, being voted most friendly and even becoming Homecoming king
(really, it was one heck of a school)!

Justin's enjoys playing video games (anything with "SIM" in the title). He
is involved with Chesapeake Hall's Community Activities Board (CAB) and
the Resident Student Association (RSA).
