About Me

Ashish Joshi is a Research Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He is also an adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Maryland, School of Medicine, Baltimore. Dr. Joshi holds an affiliate appointment with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. Dr.Joshi is also a Research Director of Consortium for Information Technology and Health Outcomes Research (CITHOR).


Dr. Joshi is a trained Physician and obtained his degree in Medicine and Surgery from India followed by an additional training as a resident physician in Internal Medicine. He obtained his MPH from Boston University School of Public Health with majors in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and has obtained graduate certificate in Public Health Informatics from University of Maryland College Park.


His research interest focuses on healthcare interface designs, public health informatics, multifaceted interventions to support chronic disease management through use of technology, computer mediated health education, and analyses of large administrative healthcare and clinical databases to do health outcomes.


He has completed several funded federal, private foundation, and industry related research projects. Dr. Joshi has co-authored more than two dozen papers in several peer reviewed journals and has presented his research at International and National Conferences.
