I will be graduating from UMBC at the close of the fall semester in December 2009. I will earn a B.A. in English with a writing minor. Currently I work part-time at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) in the Service Learning Department as the Facilitator of Service Learning. I am responsible for explaining the Service Learning Program to students at the beginning of the semester and assisting them in securing appropriate service learning opportunities if necessary. I also work with professors to adapt service learning to the needs of their classes.

After graduation I will be looking for full-time employment. One of the reasons I decided to declare an English major was because I felt that I would have a bigger variety of job opportunities upon graduation. My goal is to be able to have flexibility within my career.

I cannot say if I have an ideal job in mind. I am able to adapt to a variety of situations and work well within those situations. I would like to have a job in the writing world, either as an author or an editor of some sort. I would also be quite pleased with a job as an administrative assistant. It is also possible that I will start my own business at some time in the future.
