The International Institute of Forecasters is organizing the 19th International Symposium on Forecasting in Washington DC from June 27 - 30, 1999. The nation's capital houses a multitude of federal institutions that generate and implement policies that have far reaching consequences both on the United States and on other nations in the world. The neighboring areas of Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland support a vast volume of private businesses. The location of this symposium will provide a forum for presentation and discussion of issues that influence strategic forecasting research and practice in government and businesses.
