The Story of My Life
I was born on June 29th, 1989 in Hampton Virginia as the youngest daughter of the Dechaumphai family. Both of my parents are from Thailand who came here to study when they were in their 20's. Finally, when I was about 3 years old, they decided to move back. I grew up in Thailand for about 10 years before moving back to the States again to live with my aunt's family. It was a difficult transition; however, it was a valuable experience that strengthened me as a person.- A - Age: 20

I am currently a junior attending University of Maryland Baltimore County and am majoring in mechanical
engineering. Ever since I was little, I have always been interested in building, designing, and
figuring out how things work. Living the college life has been a lot of fun thus far, both inside and
outside of the classroom. I am blessed to have met such a wonderful group of friends during my years
here at UMBC.
